Neymar happy with Barcelona goals but laments Victor Valdes injury
Brazilian Neymar has followed the example of his teammates by rallying around crocked goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who will miss the upcoming World Cup after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in Wednesday's La Liga win over Celta Vigo- thus signalling the end of his Catalan career.
Spain keeper Valdes, who is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, had to go off in the first half of the game, and Brazilian striker Neymar said on the club's official website: "The victory is bittersweet because of Valdes' injury. I hope it's nothing serious."
The 22 year-old Neymar, who has recently come in for criticism from Barca club legend Johann Cruyff, tempered his doubters by netting a brace in the 3-0 win, which keeps his side in the hunt for another La Liga crown: "I'm happy that we won. I'm happy for the two goals and that we won the other day in the Bernabeu (against Real Madrid). On a personal level, I am very calm and feel at ease."
