The agent of Brazilian Neto believes his client is capable of representing his senior country in the future and feels he deserves a place in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad.

The 24-year-old is yet to represent the Brazil senior team but has appeared twice for the Brazil under-23 team.

When Stefano Castagna spoke to Firenzeviola he stated that Neto should go to the World Cup but accepts Scolari has most likely already decided which goalkeepers to take.

Football Italia quoted Castagna, he said: “Based on what he is doing he would deserve a place in the World Cup squad.

“But I think Scolari already has in mind who he will take to the World Cup.”

Although Neto’s dream of playing for his country in this summer’s World Cup looks unlikely to be fulfilled, Castagna believes his client will become a househand name in the Seleção shirt soon.

Castagna concluded: “I am sure that Neto will be a part of the national team after the World Cup. He could become one of their three goalkeepers in time for the next Copa America or the next World Cup in Russia.”
