Botafogo have been rebuffed in their attempts to bring forward Vitinho back to the club from CSKA Moscow, according to reports.
The 20 year-old’s struggled to settle in Russia and has made just eight appearances for CSKA since joining in September 2013.
Botofogo had hoped they could tempt CSKA into releasing the youngster on a season long loan, but their proposal has reportedly been turned down.
Vitinho is still believed to be seen as an important asset for manager Leonid Slutsky and will seemingly remain with CSKA for the foreseeable future.
