Spanish newspaper Marca has scrutinised the overall performance of the Brazilian since joining the Catalan giants and says that his contribution of 12 goals in 32 appearances is far less than that of fellow Brazilians that have represented the club in the past.

The 22-year-old started the season well but a recent dip in form now leaves his place in the starting XI in question, with a mouth-watering Clássico against Real Madrid on the cards this weekend.

The Spanish newspaper pointed out that, at this stage in their first season, the likes of Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho “had the fans eating out of their hands”.

Romário had notched up an impressive 28 goals and Ronaldo an astonishing 34 goals

Rivaldo had netted 25 goals whilst Ronaldinho, playing in a slightly more withdrawn position, had still managed to tot up 17 goals.
