The Toronto FC goalkeeper says that the top tier of American football is as good as that in England when it comes to organisation, atmosphere and fans.

The Brazilian made his MLS debut as the Reds beat the Seattle Sounders 2-1 last weekend and the 34-year-old liked what he saw.

“I must say though that what I’m seeing in the MLS is not much different from what I saw in England. The organisation is wonderful and the fans are very creative, it is one thing that I never thought I would find here,” he told Globo Esporte.

The former Inter Milan stopper spent two seasons with Queens Park Rangers before joining Toronto FC on loan last month.

“Queens Park Rangers in the first year was wonderful, other than the relegation. The Premier League has a fantastic organisation, the stadiums are always full and there is a great respect for the players from the fans.”
