Ronaldinho believes he needs to continue training hard to rediscover his form from last year which helped Atlético Mineiro win the 2013 Copa Libertadores.

The Brazil legend scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday night from the penalty spot but it came just six minutes after he had missed an earlier penalty.

The 33-year-old actually felt his second penalty was worse than his first but he still managed to find the net with the latter effort.

He now wants to improve his form and help Atlético, Ronaldinho told Lancenet about his missed spot kick: “It’s a guy who knows me well. Ignacio Don has been studying my penalties from a long time ago.

“It was a strong hit into the corner but he ended up saving it.

“In the second penalty it did not come out as good as the first but the ball went in. It’s not always the scored one that comes out right.

“I have to train more and more to get back to the great performances and help the other athletes.”

Atlético and Ronaldinho will both hope he rediscovers his past form and can contribute to more glories in the Gala jersey.
