Atlético Madrid forward Diego Costa linked with move to Manchester United
Manchester United’s struggles have been well documented and what can be done to change the downturn in results at Old Trafford this season has been frequently debated.
The answer could be a Brazilian, but not Cruzeiro’s Everton Ribeiro like it was speculated in January. Instead Diego Costa is being muted as the man to get the Red Devils out of their current slump.
The Atlético Madrid forward has been linked with a move to Old Trafford today by English newspaper The Guardian and Brazil publication Lancenet.
Costa, a Brazilian-born Spanish resident, has enjoyed a sensational season in Spain and in Europe with Atlético. His outstanding form over the last 18 months has seen him linked with various big name clubs and it appears United are the latest to register some interest.
Although considering his current club are almost certainties to qualify for the Champions League next season, whilst Man United most likely won’t - it would appear a strange move.
The summer addition of Costa though would certainly boost current United manager David Moyes’ chance of succeeding at Manchester, although the bad news for him is that Costa’s present manager Diego Simeone is apparently being lined up to replace Moyes in the Old Trafford hot seat.
