Brazil midfielder Lucas Leiva continued his comeback after injury by coming off the bench for Liverpool in their destruction of Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Leiva, who has been unable for selection after sustaining a knee ligament injury back in January, was brought on by manager Brendan Rodgers when the game was done and dusted; Liverpool being 3-0 up with little time on the clock.

The Brazil international enjoyed a brief cameo that lasted five minutes at the end of the game.

Leiva, who has 24 Brazil caps to his name already, was thought to be in with a good chance of making Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad before his enforced absence; in that time, Fernandinho has stepped into the frame and impressed when scoring against South Africa at the start of March.
