Carlos Mouriño has praised the Brazilian midfielder, on loan from Barcelona, stating he would sign him for many years to come if the Catalan giants let him leave next summer.

In a recent interview, Mouriño spoke about the prospect of taking Rafinha on loan again, but admits that it’s all in Barcelona’s hands.

“The first who needs to decide is Barcelona.  If he were ours, we’d renew his contract for many, but the first thing that needs to happen is for him to go back to Barca and see if they’ll bring him onto the first team.  We’d love to have him stay on for another year with us.”

The 21-year-old played for Spain at youth level but in late 2012, however, he switched allegiance to the country of his birth, Brazil, going on to represent the under-20s at the 2013 South American Youth Championship in Argentina.
