São Paulo striker Alexandre Pato satisfied with his debut
The Brazilian made his debut on for his new club when they faced CSA on Wednesday night.
Pato failed to score in the Copa do Brasil clash but was satisfied with his debut.
The 24-year-old, however, admitted to lamenting the fact that he is unable to represent São Paulo in the state championship. Having not played since 2 February, he feels that he needs game-time in order to get back into the rhythm of playing again.
“The most important thing is to have played. After more than a month without playing, it’s not easy to play. It’s been a difficult month but I’m satisfied with how I did today.”
Having played five times for Corinthians in the Paulistão, Pato is prohibited from representing his new club in the same championship. His next opportunity to play, therefore, will be in the Copa do Brasil return leg against CSA on 9 April.
“Now it’s about work. I have two weeks to wait, this will make things more difficult because I’d like to play this weekend. So it’s about work, making the most of training sessions until I have game-rhythm and can contribute more,” the former AC Milan man concluded.
