The Brazilian football  legend has admitted that he is concerned about violent protests that are likely to take place in Brazil during this year’s event.

Mass anti-government rallies that began during last June during the Confederations Cup are expected to continue during the World Cup.

The three-time World Cup winner, however, has called on Brazilians to temporarily put aside their disquiet over bad governance and corruption.

He wants the nation to unite behind the Seleção’s efforts to obtain a sixth World Cup crown.

With only the World Cup and Olympics in 2016 to showcase Brazil as a prime tourist destination, the 73-year-old is adamant that the country grab the opportunity with both hands.
