Ronaldinho’s team mate, Jô, has backed the superstar to regain his form and has revealed that the Atlético Mineiro playmaker has been doing well in training.

The form of Ronaldinho has been a debated topic recently with the 33-year-old failing to find the net or register an assist this season but former Manchester City striker Jô believes he will come good eventually.

The Atlético hitman was speaking to Globo Esporte and said: “It is early in the year and he hasn’t played for two or three games so actually lacks a bit of pace.

“In training you see he is looser, his physical part is almost 100%. We are waiting for him to perform during the games now and enhance his technical part.”

Jô and Ronaldinho will both hope to perform well on Wednesday night in Paraguay, although early Thursday morning UK time, as they face Nacional in the Copa Libertadores.

With five goals in seven appearances in all competitions, including two in the Libertadores, Jô can be satisfied with his start to 2014.

The 26-year-old will now aim to continue his productive season and secure a place in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad.
