Corinthians striker Paulo Guerrero has been ruled out for at least a month with a muscular injury in his left thigh, which will come as a real blow to botht the player and his club as the new Brasileiro season approaches.

Guererro, who has achieved something of a cult status at the club after starring in their World Club Cup exploits (they won the title in 2012), leaves a team short on experience up front after the transfer of Alexandre Pato to Sao Paulo at the turn of the year.

The injury came in a 3-2 defeat to Sao Paulo ironically, but Corinthians will have new boy Jadson back for their next game against Penapolense in the Paulista state championship. The Brazil attcking midfielder sat out the previous game under a gentleman’s agreement between the two clubs.
