The legendary Pelé has been speaking about the World Cup in an exclusive interview with AFP and believes Brazil deserve an excellent tournament.

As the World Cup looms closer the pressure will start to build on Seleção and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Brazil’s all-time leading scorer hopes that his country can have a great tournament and believes the Confederation Cup experience will be vital.

Pelé said: “This is a great opportunity. It will be fantastic for Brazil.

"I think after we had the experience of the Confederations Cup the government has been better organised for the World Cup. So I hope we will have an excellent World Cup. We deserve it."

The 73-year-old has already spoken about the pressure on Neymar and he’ll hope all his countrymen can cope.

The Brazilian national team last hosted the World Cup in 1950 but by failing to win the tournament they ultimately flopped and Pelé will hope his countryman don’t do the same this time around.
