Free-scoring Santos made it three wins in succession with a 4-1 triumph against Oeste in the Paulista state championship on Sunday evening, meaning that the Sao Paulo based club have now bagged 14 times in just over a week in the league.

The goals were all scored before their opponents had had a chance to register, and Santos were ahead after 22 minutes thanks to Leandro Damiao. The Brazil striker, hoping to reignite his international career after his move from Internacional, has been impressing in recent weeks and continued to do so here.

A double from wide-man Bruno Ribeiro, as well as a strike from substitute Diego Cardoso, rendered Oeste’s 90th minute consolation almost meaningless. The result keeps Santos ahead in their section with 32 points from 13 games, wheras Oestelie bottom of theirs, a hapless eight points garnered from the same amount of matches.
