The Peixe demonstrated their superior offensive qualities in yet another rout as they beat their opponents 5-2 on Thursday night. They are now the top goalscorers in the competition with 30 goals.

Goals from Emerson, Damião, Rildo, Arouca and Lucas Lima saw Santos comfortable win away at Mogi Mirim, who replied through Fernando Baiano and Magrão.

They were the first goals for Santos for Rildo and Lucas Lima who once again gave their side a fresh impetus after coming on as substitutes in the second half.

The victory means that Santos are guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals of the Campeonato Paulista along with São Paulo and Palmeiras.

Mogi, of president-come-player Rivaldo, face contrasting fortunes. The Sapo must continue to battle for survival in the division.

The game was overshadowed by racism aimed at Santos goalscorer Arouca.
