The Brazilian midfielder has been sidelined by a cruciate knee ligament injury but will take part in Liverpool’s under-21 clash with West Ham on Friday night.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa in January and will hope to be fit for the crunch clash at Old Trafford next weekend.

The player took to Twitter to express his delight at his return to fitness.

“Happy to be back and playing for the reserves. I’m back to 100% and hope to be able to play for Liverpool in 10 days,” wrote the player on the social network site.

The midfielder remains an outside bet to make Brazil’s World Cup squad although his chances were dealt a blow by Fernandinho’s goal in the 5-0 victory over South Africa which may have put the Manchester City man slightly ahead in the pecking order.
