Tottenham Hotspur fan favourite Sandro has been speaking to SpursTV about making his 100th appearance for the club this weekend if selected against Chelsea in the Premier League.
The in-depth interview with the Brazilian was conducted in English and the former internacional midfielder spoke of his delight at hearing about his milestone approaching.
Sandro said about his 100th match: “Yes I am very happy, this means a lot for me because I love to play for Spurs.
“I feel like I am at Brazil here because everyone is a friend of mine and family and so it means a lot.
“I am so happy when I hear about this (milestone), lets win so it is more special for me.”
The 24-year-old spoke about his low times in north London as he has suffered two serious injuries since signing in 2010.
He added: “It was hard sometimes. Injuries in both knees and small injuries also, so 100 games means a lot.
“I played at a good level, and then injury and then I come back.
“Now I have to train hard, play hard to be involved again, to be playing in the first team so I go for it again and I am always happy at Spurs, always with a smile on my face.”
Spurs fans often refer to the Brazilian as ‘beast’ due to his destructive nature in midfielder and Sandro loves the endearing chant.
He concluded: “Yes it is amazing. There are no words to say, nothing to say because when you have a bad time you go onto the pitch again and everyone says ‘beast’ and it makes me feel so happy and strong.”
