Flamengo fans could cheekily proclaim that one of England’s finest international footballers David Beckham supports them after the global star was pictured with their jersey on Wednesday night.
The former captain of the England team flew to Brazil yesterday and on his arrival in Rio de Janeiro he was handed a Flamengo shirt with the number 23 on the back.
Globo reported that the famous former footballer signed and had his picture taken with the Fla jersey, which should please Flamengo fans in particular.
The Daily Mail meanwhile believe Beckham is in Brazil for the famous annual Carnival which reaches its climax this weekend.
They state that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder will ride a float during the Carnival.
The Sports ambassador will be hoping to make friends during his time in Brazil and acquaintances that might come in handy when he starts his Miami based MLS team.
For now though Brazil and Flamengo fans can rejoice that England’s famous former footballer isin their country celebrating their fantastic annual event.
