Brazil’s Group A rivals Cameroon were on the wrong end of a thumpng as Portugal eased to a 5-1 friendly win in the latest round of World Cup warm-up matches, and there was little surprise as to who engineered the win.

Cristiano Ronaldo bagged two goals, in the process taking his international tally to 49, as the European side demonstrated a ruthless attacking display. After the sides went in all square at the interval, Portugal let loose in the second half and the African team will have to show much more resolve against Brazil if they are not to capitulate in a similar fashion.

Raul Meireles, Fabio Coentrao and substitute Edinho completed the scoring for the Portuguese, whilst Aboubakar’s 43rd minute strike was all that was offered by the Indomitable Lions.

Cameroon play Brazil in the final round of group fixtures in Brasilia on June 23.
