Bayern Munich defender Rafinha was happy with his performance against South Africa and believes he impressed Seleção head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The 28-year-old played the whole match in Johannesburg and speaking with lancenet.com after the game he revealed his delight.

The Brazilian full back said: “I am glad to have participated in this last friendly of the Brazilian national team before the World Cup.

“The team made a good start and achieved a good result.”

Although not spectacular, the Bayern player put in a solid display but failed to show the attacking threat of Dani Alves, although that is hard to replicate.

However, Rafinha just hopes he performed exactly what Scolari asked of him, adding: “I hope I have fulfilled what the coach asked of me.

“I hope I have left a good impression to continue and therefore play for Seleção in the World Cup at home.”

The Brazil manager has already praised Rafinha’s performance so the Bayern defender has obviously left a lasting impression, now he’ll wait to find out in a few months time if he has been selected for the final World Cup squad.
