The stadium is one of Brazil’s 12 World Cup venues and will host its inaugural match on March 9.

The match will see Nacional, from Manaus, and Remo, from Belém, battle it out in the quarter-final of the Copa Verde, a regional tournament involving teams in and around the Amazon.

20,000 fans will be admitted to the test event at the 46,000 capacity stadium. 7,000 tickets will be reserved for site workers and their families.

Dilma Rousseff is expected to attend the official inauguration of the venue which will host four group phase matches including mouth-watering clashes between England and Italy as well as Portugal and the USA.
