Head Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has been speaking with reporters ahead of Brazil’s South Africa friendly in Johannesburg and was quick to insist that a successful 2014 for the Selecao will not happen without a stellar contribution from star man Neymar.
The Barcelona superstar is widely expected to be the face of this summer’s tournament after becoming not only a world-class operator, but also a marketing executive’s dream. He has advertising contacts all over the world and showed little signs of pressure when steering Brazil to a famous Confederations Cup win on home soil last summer.
“I want Neymar playing the same way as he has been playing. I want nothing more than he has done, he is great,” said Scolari ahead of Wednesday’sgame.
“When he works with a quality coach like Tata Martino (Barcelona), it will add some virtues to him. I hope he continues the same way as he has always played for Brazil.”
