Leading South African players have expressed their excitement at hosting Brazil in a friendly this week as the World Cup’s previous and current Masters of Ceremonies prepare to go head to head in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Midfielder Andile Jali told reporters that “we will fight for a win even though it is going to be a difficult match. As players, we don’t have to be motivated because just being in the squad to play Brazil is enough motivation.”

World champions Spain fell at the hands of South Africa in November and Jali continued: “We did well against Spainbecause we were playing as a team and if we continue with the same mentality we will do well again.”

Defender Thabo Nthethe echoed the sentiments of his teammate by stating that “every player is excited to play Brazil and we are all hoping to be in the starting line up for such a big occasion.”

Reports suggest that the game at Soccer City is on course to become a 90,000 sell-out.
