Alexandre Pato has told the São Paulo official website about his preparation for his debut match that is scheduled for the early hours of the morning on Thursday March 13th UK time.

The much discussed forward has been unable to make his debut for his new team due to playing a certain amount of matches for Corinthians in the State Championship this year.

Therefore his debut will be in the Copa do Brasil against CS Alagoano if selected by head coach Muricy Ramalho.

Pato said: “I am preparing myself well. If chosen for the game in Maceió, I will give my best to help the team.

“I’ll acquire slowly the game rhythm and I can even feel some difficulty but the fans can be sure that my desire (to do well) is no ending. I really want to take chances that appear.”

Lancenet.com reported the former AC Milan strikers comments and he went on to say that the training time he has had with his new team mates has been vital.

Pato, nicknamed the ‘duck’, said: “This preparation time has been important because I want to do what I love again: play football.

“I try to make the most of training and thus reduce the anxiety of my debut.

“I know it takes patience but I’m taking advantage of this period to adapt to the club and my new team mates.”
