Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho praises Steven Gerrard and Reds fans
Philippe Coutinho has praised Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard in an interview he has given to club website Liverpoolfc.com.
The Brazilian has been fantastic this season and himself and Gerrard have linked up numerous times to score and assist goals.
Coutinho had admitted it is a pleasure to play alongside the England captain and revealed he studies his team mate in training.
"As I always say, I try to observe him in training, his playing style,” the Brazilian revealed.
"He's phenomenal and the way he connects with the ball is impressive.
"It's a pleasure for me to be playing alongside such good players, not only him but all the others we have in the squad. I try to make the most out of it."
Liverpool recently beat rivals Everton 4-0 and demolished Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield, matches in which Gerrard and Coutinho stared.
The 21-year-old praised the supporters in those games, adding: "Those matches against Arsenal and Everton were really impressive.
"The supporters were also spectacular. I've never seen something like that. I feel very happy for having been part of this moment.
"The fans supported us in everything we did against Arsenal. They became our 12th player and they were certainly our difference in that match.
"It gives you confidence when everybody is supporting you. It was really impressive."
