Atlético Mineiro needed a late winner from Neto Berola to make it two wins out of two in the Copa Libertadores and the forward said after the game he was happy to be among the goals again.

The reigning Copa Libertadores champions found themselves trailing but soon hit back before and finally broke Santa Fe’s resistance in the 87th minute to secure a 2-1 win.

Marcos Rocha’s long throw went across the box and Berola acrobatically scissor-kicked the winner into the net from close range.

He spoke with Lancenet.com afterwards and thanked God, Berola said: “I am very happy, it was a long time without scoring a goal.

“But I always talk to the leader and ask him to give me opportunities.

“I thank God, I managed to meet the ball and help with this victory.”

The 26-year-old’s goal evoked memories of efforts that former Brazil striker Bebeto used to score.

After the game Berola spoke about how in training he has jokingly likened himself to the former Seleção star.

“It was the same as Bebeto,” joked Berola.

“In training, when I try some banter, staff begins to call me Bebeto but more important today was that the first team earned victory.”
