Botafogo head coach Eduardo Hungaro admitted Wednesday night’s result in the Copa Libertadores could have been better for his side as they drew 1-1 with Unión Española in Chile.

It seemed like Unión Española would pull off a shock win when they took the lead in the second half but a header from Juan Carlos Ferreyra spared the blushes of Fogão.

On reflection it wasn’t a bad result as most teams struggle away in the Libertadores and Botafogo especially have a poor record but Hungaro wasn’t satisfied.

Hungaro spoke with Lancenet and said: “It is important to highlight the strength of the team’s reaction, to seek a draw away from home.

“It is very important not to lose and earn points to get out of the group. But I think the outcome could have been better for Botafogo.”

After an inconsistent start Hungaro is starting to produce good results with the Rio de Janeiro team but continues to strive for perfection.

They are unbeaten in six matches. Botafogo occupy first place in Group 2 and are currently on course to qualify from group 2, although there is four matches still to play.
