Chelsea midfielder Ramires has praising former colleague Didier Drogba ahead of tonight’s last-16 Champions League clash against Galatasaray.

The Blues are in Istanbul for the intimidating European fixture and the Brazilian midfielder has been revealing his appreciation for the Ivory Coast forward to Lancenet.com.

Drogba’a last kick in a Chelsea shirt was scoring the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final win and Ramires lauded the Ivorian.

“Drogba set an example of what I need to do to play for Chelsea and love the club,” added the midfielder.

“The biggest memory of Drogba was the farewell speech he made after the Champions League title. His emotion at that time affected everybody in the locker room.

“We know very well what problems Drogba will cause us, but they recognise our quality.”

The Brazilian discussed the belief that the London side are favourites for the knock-out match but spoke about the importance of being on their game from the minute go.

Ramires added: “I heard we are favorites but in the recently history of Chelsea it proves that it is just 11 against 11 on the pitch and anything can happen.

“Statistics and favoritism never guarantees anyone wins or titles.”
