PSG captain Thiago Silva backs manager Laurent Blanc and labelled 'best defender in world'
Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva has praised manager Laurent Blanc and been praised himself by another Brazilian who he is set to face at the weekend.
Firstly though Silva stated that PSG have to back manager Blanc and he expects to be invited to the Frenchman's celebratory dinner, if he is offered a new deal by those in charge at the club.
The Seleção captain said to L'Equipe: "It is important the coach feels good and valued at this club.
"If he does get an extension I hope he invites us all to dinner to celebrate the event."
Blanc has enjoyed a successful first season with PSG. They have virtually qualified for the Champions League quarter-final's and the top of the table Ligue 1 side host Marseille on Sunday.
But instead of a war of words starting like has been the case in the past, Marseille defender Lucas Mendes has been praising Silva.
The Brazilian 23-year-old defender was complimentary of his countryman and rival on Sunday evening.
At a recent press conference he said: "I think he (Silva) is the best defender in the world.
"I watched him a lot at Milan. I am inspired by him; how he plays, how he defends."
