The General Secretary of FIFA, Jerome Valcke, has lavished praise on the Amazonian city of Manaus ahead of this Summer’s World Cup and declared it a fantastic venue for visiting fans and players alike.
Manaus will host Fan Fests, carnival-type events for tourists in the region, in order to keep those visitors without tickets entertained throughout their entire stay in the jungle.
Valcke said of the Fan Fests: “I want to congratulate the Manaus organisation of Fan Fest. The place is gorgeous, ideal for hosting thousands of people, not only for four games, but for 64 games.”
“Fan Fest is an essential part of the Wrold Cup.”
