Napoli’s Brazilian goalkeeper has put a positive spin on the injury he sustained against Swansea in the Europa League on Thursday and insisted that he will come back a better player.

The 23 year-old shot stopper cruelly tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in Wales and had to be replaced by Pepe Reina after 45 minutes of the encounter, which ended 0-0. Napoli have confirmed a surgery for the former Santos player, whose season is now definitely over.

“I’m confident I’ll be back stronger than ever,” Rafael posted on his personal Instagram account, “I’m proud, and very happy to be playing here I’ll be back soon.”

Rafael joined the Italian outfit last summer and has made 11 appearances for them so far. He had previously won the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil while at Santos.
