Legendary Brazil striker Ronaldo knows all about the heartaches and personal tests that come with injury; after all the two-time World Cup winner spent a large portion of hi distinguished career watching from the sidelines. He is therefore very well equipped to comment on the trials and tribulations of a fellow Selecao enigma, Adriano.
The pair are former teammates for Brazil and Ronaldo has spoken of the need for Adriano to take the proper time to regain the fitness needed to compete at the very top of the game again: “I spent almost two years devoting myself to recovery. Everyone is rooting for Adriano but he has to give that answer,” he told a news conference.
“For some years he does not play, it’s not just a sports issue it’s a matter of life.”
Adriano has recently signed with Atletico Paranaense, with whom he will be aiming to rediscover the abilities that made him one of the world’s most feared strikers, famous for fizzing strikes at the opposition goalkeeper.
