Palmeiras head coach Gilson Kleina has spoken about how important it is that Alan Kardec keeps up his current level of performance and not let the speculation of a Brazil call-up effect him.
In defence of the Benfica loanee he has insisted he won’t be effected but Kleina wanted to highlight the issue again.
Lance quoted the Palmeiras head coach who said: “Of course we all have an ego and today Brazil is speaking about Kardec.
“It is impossible not to generate some expectation. What we say is that if things do not happen, he has to maintain this current level of performance.”
Kardec’s current boss went on to praises the Benfica forward who joined midway through 2013 and helped Palmeiras earn promotion to Serie A again.
He praised his contributions since being at the club and does admit he would be deserving of a call-up to Luiz Felipe Scolari’s Brazil squad.
Kleina added: “This current organisation around his career is giving him growth. Palmeiras has given him this.
“We want everything to go well but if not he is at a big club and is putting in great performances.
“The crowd is very happy with him and he will give many joys to us. He is deserving (of a call-up).”
