Bayern Munich defender Dante revealed after his sides Champions League win over Arsenal that he has been constantly reassuring his team mates that the World Cup will be a success.

Speculation has been rife about protests and demonstrations being planned for the World Cup this summer. Whilst various stadiums remain uncompleted.

Dante however told BBC Brazil that he is doing the best he can to tell his team mates it will all be fine.

He said whilst laughing: “They are very attentive, talking about the demonstrations, protests. Of course they are concerned, players are concentrating very much on it and they like to plan these things.

“They are always asking if the stadiums are going to be really ready, and all that. But I’m trying to reassure them as best I can.”

Lots of Dante’s German team mates are thought to be among the people to jokingly question the Brazilian defender over his nation.

As he has previously said though he strongly believes the World will see a “beautiful World Cup” and backed his country to make every national feel welcome.

Dante insisted: “They get a little concerned with this, but I tell them that we Brazilians also have a great interest in making a beautiful World Cup and we will welcome all the countries that will be there.”
