The Brazilian Football Confederation have announced when Luiz Felipe Scolari will reveal his seven alternative options in his final 23-man World Cup squad.

UOL Copa reported the news that Scolari will announce his seven extra players on May 13th.

May 7th is when the Seleção head coach will reveal his initial 23-man squad and then six days later the extra seven will be confirmed.

For players selected as part of the extra seven they will have the opportunity to impress the Brazil boss because he won’t have to confirm his final 23 until the end of May, when FIFA want squads confirmed.

That mean’s the players announced on Scolari’s list won’t just be relying on an injury to squeeze into Brazil’s squad, good end of season form might also get them selected.

Players that may find themselves in the the addition seven could be Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho among various others all over the globe.

It provides some hope for Brazilian’s trying to obtain a position in Scolari’s team and is also a date to remember for Seleção fans.
