The Brazilian defender has previously lauded the Belgian as the world"s best young player but now thinks he can go one step further and become the best player on the planet.

The 23-year-old winger has scored 12 Premier League goals this season.

“He [Hazard] can be one day the best player in the world. I"m so happy for him because he"s a great person, a great guy, with a lot of talent," said 26-year-old Luiz.

Hazard also considers that he is close to his best.

“I"d probably say I"m up there with some of the best, but we"ve got to realise there are lots and lots of good players in the world. What I would like to do is shed the adjective ‘young" because that would mean I"ve crossed that barrier and gone one step further in my career."
