Brazil legend Pele has been speaking about the differences in quality between the domestic leagues of Europe and those of South America and believes that although there has been a marked improvement in the Southern hemisphere, the North still harnessess greater class.
Speaking at a Coca-Cola youth event in Egypt, the man know as the greatest by many said: “I think the stronger leagues are in Europe, no doubt- Italy, England, Germany.”
“The Spanish of course have the best team today, which is no doubt Barcelona. The league as well is very strong.”
“In Brazil we have a good league too. It’s different but all the leagues today are at the same level.”
