The disgusting abuse suffered by Cruzeiro midfielder Tinga in last week’s Copa Libertadores opening fixture was threatening to rear its ugly head again today during the build up to their game with Atletico Mineiro.

Football fans rarely miss an opportunity to jump on the bandwagon of abuse when an opposition player has been the subject of troubles and lancenet.com have reported that Mineiro followers were less than complimentary towards Tinga earlier.

However, the presence of Ronaldinho on the pitch and his quick-mindedness to appeal to his own fans to halt their abusive chorus appeared to work. The Brazil legend then walked over to Tinga and embraced in a show of solidarity against the boo-boys.
