Neymar made a goalscoring return to Barcelona colours on Saturday following a month-long absence through injury.

The Brazilian suffered damage to his ankle at the start of 2014 but has recovered swiftly and marked his return with a sensational goal.

The 22-year-old picked the ball up around the centre circle, skipped past a late tackle before curling a sumptuous effort into the top corner from roughly 25-yards-out.

It was Barça’s final goal in their comfortable 6-0 win over Real Vallecano and he celebrated it in samba style by dancing with countryman Dani Alves near the corner flag.

After the match Neymar spoke to reporters to reveal his happiness at return and scoring.

Goal.com quoted the former Santos star, who said: "I"m very happy to be able to play and I"m very happy that I scored.

“This month has been long, I was very eager to play."

Despite Barça cruising to victory by six goals and moving back to the top of the La Liga table, Neymar only rated the performance nine out of ten.

"[For the performance] I"d give the team a nine out of ten," said Neymar. "We played a really good game, but you can always improve."

The Seleção star will hope his goalscoring return can convince Tata Martino to start him in Tuesday’s Champions League away tie against Premier League side Manchester City.
