Team USA will host neighbours Mexico in a friendly on April 2 in Arizona as both nations prepare for the 2014 World Cup.

The game is not on an official FIFA fixture date which means that European-based players are not likely to be available for the match.

Preparing for their seventh straight World Cup appearance, USA are planning home friendlies for May 27, June 1 and June 7 before leaving for the tournament in Brazil.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s team will face Ghana in Natal on June 16 before taken on Portugal and then Germany.

Mexico open against Cameroon before playing Brazil and Croatia.
