Bayern's Rafinha honoured at call up
Bayern Munich defender Rafinha has spoken of his delight at being called up to Brazil's main squad ahead of their friendly against South Africa on March 5.
The 28 year-old, who has previuosly represented his country at under-20 and under-23 levels, has had to bide his time for an opportunity to add to the solitary cap won way back in 2008.
"I promise to honour the shirt like I always have!", Rafinha wrote on twitter, "I am very happy at being called up by the national team."
Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's second-in-command, Carlos Alberto Parreira, told SporTV News that Rafinha had been called up to provide another option at right back: " We need to combat the unforseen circumstances that happen each season. We have already used Dani Alves and Maicon a lot. We needed a third name."
