England manager Roy Hodgson is looking forward to visiting England's World Cup city venue Manaus.

The experienced manager made initial comments on Manaus, before the Three Lions were based there, which caused controversy in Brazil.

However, Hodgson has been quick to atone his early error by apologising and speaking to the FA site he is excited about visiting the Brazilian city.

Hodgson said: "I'm looking forward to it. Everyone who I know who has been there speaks very, very highly of the city and the people.

"It will be interesting from that point of view.

"But most importantly it will be intetesting to see how the stadium is progressing and what the training field and hotel looks like.

"This is what is going to be of importance to us come 14 June."

The England manager will be in Brazil at the weekend as well as he visitd Florianopolis as part of FIFA's World Cup Team Workshop.

It is at the weekend when Hodgson s expected to check up on England's World Cup venue and you can expect the 66-year-old to be thorough with his assessment of Manaus, albeit most likely privately.
