Brazil Head Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has admitted he will trim his squad for next month’s friendly against South Africa.

The tactician today named 23 players who are under consideration for the non-competitive contest, but claims four or five will miss out.

“This friendly against South Africa is a different situation. It’s no use me taking 23 players,” he said, as reported by GOAL.com.

“18 or 19 is the most I’ll be taking. I’m always watching the players who are in action. I always call the players best suited. I’ll test some more players and then define the final list.

I am watching those who will train well and work hard. There may still be a surprise when I make final call-ups.”

Brazil face South Africa at Soccer City on Wednesday 5th March, as they continue their preparation for this summer’s World Cup.
