The Brazilians disappointed at not being selected in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s latest squad was compounded on Tuesday with the news that he will face a spell on the sidelines.

Robinho picked up the thigh injury in AC Milan’s 3-1 defeat away at Napoli in Saturday and was subsequently replaced by fellow Brazilian Kaká.

The defeat left Milan in 11th place in the table with just 29 points, 31 points behind leaders Juventus.

The 30-year-old will miss Friday’s game against Bologna and is now a doubt for the Champions League clash against Atlético Madrid on February 19.
