Paraguayan striker Pablo Zeballos, who was back in his homeland on loan from Russia, is on the verge of signing a deal with Botafogo, according to reports on lancenet.com.
A loan transfer for the 27 year-old Sovetov attacker is being discussed on Monday and it is thought that Zeballos could sign by the end of the day and in time to register for the Rio de Janeiro club’s first Copa Libertadores campaign in 17 years.
Capped nine times by Paraguay, and with one goal to his name, Zeballos was keen to join Olimpia permanently but the club’s crippling debt has appeared to put paid to tha option.
