Brazilian Fernando will be available for Porto again soon but will most likely leave in the summer according to his brother Joca Reges.

Sky Sports published the news after the midfielder’s sibling spoke with Portuguese online newspaper Mais Futebol.

Firstly talking about his brother returning to the starting eleven soon, it had been reportedly that the 26-year-old wouldn’t play unless he signed a new deal, he said: “Fernando missed the last games because he was injured.

"It"s nothing serious and he will be back soon. I believe he will be able to play on Sunday [against Paços Ferreira].

“Manager Paulo Fonseca considers him indispensable, it"s been a difficult season and the manager doesn"t want to give up being helped by Fernando."

The Brazilian’s brother did however state that he would be seeking a new challenge in the summer.

Curiously though he failed to mentioned Manchester City, the side most linked with Fernando throughout the winter transfer window, but did list rivals Manchester United among the clubs Fernando would like to test himself at.

Reges said: "This is Fernando"s last season at FC Porto, it has been decided already.

“Fernando has his goals and he wants to play in a bigger league.

"Porto are a big club but they are a level below Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United, for example."
