Juventus are ready to make a proposal to Porto midfielder Fernando, according to reports.

The 26 year-old is out of contract in the summer and Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri will go up against Manchester City to secure his signature.

Fernando had initially been expected to agree a renewal with Porto, but has become increasingly unlikely over the past few weeks.

City are believed to have made an approach for the Alto Paraíso de Goiás-native in the final hours of the transfer window, leading to Porto owner Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa insisting that Fernando be frozen out of the first-team.

Whether that stance will remain until the end of the season remains unclear, but it has seemingly ensured that Fernando is unlikely to extend his seven year association with the Dragões.
