Pelé believes Neymar’s move to Barcelona is “very good for Brazil”
Seleção legend Pelé believes Neymar’s decision to move to Barcelona will benefit Brazil at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
The 21 year-old left Santos to join Barça for a fee reported at the time to be around €57 million.
Some speculated that making the switch to Europe a year before the FIFA World Cup was a risk, but having watched Neymar settled quickly in Spain, Pelé believes the decision to move has paid off.
“He is our child and a wonderful young man who had the chance to go to Barcelona, and it’ll be very good for Brazil,” he said, as reported by Football Espana.
“Neymar is getting a very important experience there.”
Neymar, who is currently injured, has scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Barcelona this season.
