Hernanes has admitted it is a dream come true to be a professional footballer after his new team Inter Milan held a press conference today to unveil him.
The Brazilian move to Milan from Rome last weekend after spending the last few seasons at Lazio and discussed his aspirations as a young boy.
Globo Esporte quoted the 28-year-old who admitted it was a “wonderful moment” to be revealed as an Internazionale player.
Hernanes said: “The feeling of being presented here as the star of a very important club in the world is a wonderful moment.
“I have had a dream since childhood, when I was always with the ball, sleeping with the ball, when I was going training, I would bounce the ball down the road.
“I always took the ball with me but had no idea how far I could get.”
The national team midfielder gave an interesting anecdote about his younger years.
His childhood wishes have seemingly been answered, Hernandes added: “One day I walked into a church and asked for my dream.
“And I’ve had it for about 16 years.
“From that moment on, the goal in my life was playing football at a big club and make a beautiful route.”
